Missouri Academy of General Dentistry’s Dentist of the Year Award-2008

MoAGD Dentist of the Year-2008I am Dr David Dear.

I have been practicing general dentistry in Versailles, Missouri since I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1984 from The University of Missouri-Kansas City.

I have served as President of the Central Dental Association and completed my term as Trustee for the Missouri Dental Association.

I received my Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in June 2012.  I received The Academy’s Mastership Award (MAGD) in 2014.  I am presently serving as the Treasurer of the Missouri Academy of General Dentists again this year.  I have served as Missouri President and 6th District Trustee for the Academy of General Dentistry.

I received my Fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD) award this year.  I am also a Fellow in the International College of Dentists (FICD) since 2013.

My memberships include: American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Jefferson City Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Boy Scouts of America, Knights of Columbus, Professional Association of Diving Instructors.


Our Staff

My staff consists of my most valued employee, Sharon Dear, who started with me 34 years ago as my only employee. Sharon holds the job of Office Manager, and she has only been out of the office when delivering our three sons.  My oldest son; Scott X. Dear, DDS (left) joined us in June, 2014.

I have two Expanded Function Dental Assistants; Trisha (Campbell) Hull from Eldon, who has worked here since High School.  Mandi (Reynolds) Roberts from Stover, Mandi is attending the SFCC Dental Hygiene program.  Justis Foreman of Stover is a registered dental assistant who is being trained for Expanded Functions.

We have two Licensed Dental Hygienists. Rachel (Hamilton) Goosen, RDH from Windsor, and Rosalie (Kemper) Dear, RDH. Both are graduates of State Fair Community College in Sedalia.




Dr. Scott Dear, completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UMKC  in 2014, and has joined our practice.

Scott is currently serving as the President of the Central Dental Society of the Missouri Dental Association.

I was able to give him his diploma, being a 1984 alumnus of UMKC myself.
