Missouri Academy of General Dentistry’s Dentist of the Year Award-2008
I am Dr David Dear.
I have been practicing general dentistry in Versailles, Missouri since I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1984 from The University of Missouri-Kansas City.
I have served as President of the Central Dental Association and completed my term as Trustee for the Missouri Dental Association.
I will serve again this year as a Delegate for the American Dental Association.
I received my Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in June 2012. I received The Academy’s Mastership Award (MAGD) in 2014. I am presently serving as the Treasurer of the Missouri Academy of General Dentists again this year. I have served as Missouri President and 6th District Trustee for the Academy of General Dentistry.
I received my Fellowship of the American College of Dentists (FACD) award and I am also a Fellow in the International College of Dentists (FICD) since 2013.
My professional memberships include: American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Central Dental Association, Greater Jefferson City Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists.
I am also a member of Boy Scouts of America, Knights of Columbus, and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).
Our Staff
My staff consists of my most valued employee, Sharon Dear, who started with me 37 years ago as my only employee. Sharon holds the job of Office Manager, and she has only been out of the office when delivering our three sons. My oldest son; Scott X. Dear, DDS (right) joined us in June, 2014.
I have two Expanded Function Dental Assistants; Trisha Hull, who has worked here since High School, and Justis Foreman.
We have two more Dental Assistants: Leanna Baker and Jennifer Dummermuth, who are studying for the EFDA exam.
We have two Licensed Dental Hygienists: Mandi Roberts and Rosalie Dear. Both are graduates of State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
Dr. Scott Dear, completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UMKC in 2014.
I was able to give him his diploma, being a 1984 alumnus of UMKC myself.
